Tottenham Hotspur media round-up: Ehiogu frustrated by youngsters in key area

A round up of news stories this morning related to Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham Hotspur under-21 coach Ugo Ehiogu has attributed a lack of aerial ability in his side as the reason for their 2-0 defeat to Norwich yesterday, as reported by the club’s website.

Spurs’ youngsters were put under heavy pressure from the Canaries aerially, which they struggled to deal with.

The result was a shock considering Spurs have been fighting near the top of the under-21 Premier League.

“We take for granted central defenders who can head the ball from a goal-kick or a corner and we didn’t have anyone dominant in that respect,” he said.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Emmanuel Adebayor has been quoted by the Metro suggesting Harry Kane can save the club’s season.

Kane has been in good form throughout the current campaign and the big centre forward feels he can match the impact he had towards the end of last season.

Kane didn’t look himself as he was left isolated in the match against Manchester United last weekend.

“I think he is the only one that can save our season, like I did the last season,” he said.

Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has been quoted by the Daily Star suggesting that Manchester United took his team by surprise last weekend.

Spurs looked off the pace in several key areas at Old Trafford and couldn’t find a way back into the game once they fell behind.

The Frenchman has called for a response looking ahead to the club’s next game against Leicester City.

“Now we need to keep working and keep our heads high because with nine games left, a lot could happen. We need to be ready and try to win as many games as possible,” he said.
