Arsenal's Champions League dream is over for another season, exiting once again at the last 16 phase.
This time it was not Barcelona or Bayern Munich to knock them out, but French side AS Monaco.
When the two teams were drawn, the reaction from fans was positive in relation to their chances, with celebrity fan Piers Morgan among those to class it as a simple tie to negotiate.
The 'perfect' draw turned into a nightmare, as a 3-1 Emirates loss meant even a 2-0 away win last night was not enough for qualification, with the Gunners knocked out on away goals just as they were against Bayern Munich two seasons ago.

Their exit means there is only one North London club to play in a Champions League quarter-final in the last five years, their bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs did not qualify for the competition this season, nor the last, and face an uphill task to do so this year as they are currently six points off fourth place in the Premier League.
That did not stop many of their fans having a laugh or moment of enjoyment at the Gunners' expense at their exit last night. Here is a selection via Twitter...
