Rangers fans react on Twitter to Sunderland's appointment of Advocaat

Sunderland officially announced that former Rangers boss Dick Advocaat would take over from Gus Poyet on Tuesday morning.

Rangers supporters have mixed views on whether Sunderland's appointment of Dick Advocaat will be a good one, judging by their comments on Twitter.

Advocaat has come in to replace Gus Poyet at the Stadium of Light, with the Dutchman tasked with keeping Sunderland in the Premier League.

At the moment the Black Cats are just one point above the bottom three and have won just four games over the course of the season so far.

It is a record which has put them in serious danger and unless Advocaat can have an instant impact, they could well be playing Championship football next season.

The Dutchman needs to galvanise the Sunderland team and somehow help them find a way of hitting the back of the net on a more consistent basis.

Rangers fans are better placed than most to judge whether Advocaat is capable of doing this, and their views on the matter are divided.

Advocaat was in charge of Rangers for four years between 1998 and 2002, and he delivered success to the club.

It was at a price, though, as part of their current financial problems are thought to stem from Advocaat's time at the helm.

It means that Rangers fans have different opinions on the experienced manager, and here is the best reaction from the Light Blues' supporters on social media site Twitter.
