Jamie Carragher reacts to Arsenal’s Champions League exit

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher was watching the Champions League clash between AS Monaco and Arsenal this evening.

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has hailed the performance of Arsenal against AS Monaco on social networking site Twitter.

The Gunners were knocked out of the Champions League at the last-16 stage this evening, despite winning the second leg away from home.

Arsenal lost the first leg of the last-16 tie 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium in North London last month, and needed to score at least three goals in the second leg at Stade Louis II to go through.

Arsene Wenger’s side scored twice to win the second leg 2-0, and despite their late heroics, they failed to get the all-important third goal.

Carragher was following the game, and he was impressed with the performance of Arsenal, but he could not help himself from cracking a joke.

Arsenal are mathematically still in the race for the Premier League title and have reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup, but tonight’s defeat means that they won’t win the treble. Not that they were actually
