Sturridge still looked way short of his best according to some Liverpool fans with his performance against Swansea.
Liverpool seem to just find ways to win at the moment as they keep up the pressure on the race for the top four thanks to a 1-0 win over Swansea City.
It was a pretty lucky strike from Jordan Henderson but they all count as the Reds are two points behind Manchester United going into their meeting with their fierce rivals at Anfield on Sunday, knowing that a win will take them into the Champions League places.
Daniel Sturridge was the man up front for the Reds as he continues to try and get back to fitness after his lengthy spell on the sidelines through injury earlier on in the season.
There is still some concern that he is well off his best as we head into the business end of the season. Sturridge had one chance towards the end of the game where he hit the woodwork but there is an element of concern which could be attributed to a lack of games, or a decent run in the side.
Some suggest that his work rate isn't quite where it should be, while he is short of sharpness. He has shown flashes of his ability since his return to the side, with some pretty good link up play last night creating a couple of openings, including his part in the build-up to the goal, in South Wales - but he is nowhere near his best as it stands.
It may not be until next season when Liverpool see the best of their first choice striker, but it is a big period of the season to rely on a forward that isn't 100%.
Here is a selection of what was said on twitter about his performance:

Massive 3 points yesterday, slighty concerned about Sturridge form but sure he will be firing soon #LFC— Rav Jutla 8 (@RavJ1) March 17, 2015
Gonna be one of those where we have to take every chance we have... hence my hesitance to start Sturridge, looks so off the boil.— Stutinho (@strtbrdsn) March 17, 2015
Last night showed no one player should be a certain starter, maybe Sturridge would benefit with a stint on the bench, sharpen his mind! #LFC— Steve Lloyd (@Gaffa_10) March 17, 2015
Okay so I've been wondering who is this iposter posing as Daniel Sturridge? Sturridge has been really of it since he's come back.— Theann Botha (@Futedesign) March 17, 2015
