Former Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann has made an interesting observation about the AS Monaco team on social networking site Twitter.
Monaco are currently playing Arsenal in the second leg of the Champions League last-16 tie at home.
The Ligue 1 outfit are 3-1 up in the tie, having convincingly defeated the Premier League giants at the Emirates Stadium in North London last month.
It is 1-0 to Arsenal at the moment in the second leg at Stade Louis II in what has been a very competitive game.
Former Germany international Hamann is following the encounter, and it seems that he has been impressed with the fitness and physical strength of the Monaco players.
How strong physically is that Monaco team? You could make a good Rugby 7s team out of that lot.— Didi Hamann (@DietmarHamann) March 17, 2015
As things stand, Arsenal are going out of the Champions League at the last-16 stage.
Arsene Wenger’s side need to score at least three goals tonight to stand a chance of qualifying for the quarter-finals.
However, Olivier Giroud’s strike from close range in the 36th minute has given Arsenal some hope of a comeback.
