The Arsenal loanee has been looking ahead to Thursday's Europa League clash between Villarreal and Sevilla.
Arsenal player Joel Campbell has been speaking ahead of his loan club Villarreal’s Europa League match against Sevilla later this week.
In comments published by Inside Spanish Football, the Costa Rica international spoke about the possibility of overturning a 3-1 first-leg deficit in the last-16 tie.
“Nothing is written in football,” Campbell said. “This is a big battle for us and we plan to approach it in the best way.
“They scored three goals here and of course we can do it at their place, too, but of course, that doesn’t mean it will be easy.”
Campbell joined Villarreal on loan from Arsenal as part of the deal that took Gabriel Paulista to North London, and so far he is yet to score or assist in 11 appearances.
Now would be a good time for that to change, with Campbell’s temporary side needing a big win to go through to the quarter-finals.
The first leg saw Vitolo put Sevilla ahead in the very first minute, before Stephane M’Bia doubled their lead.
Luciano Vietto pulled a goal back for Villarreal but Kevin Gameiro made it three for the visitors just two minutes later.
The Arsenal player featured for 44 minutes on that occasion but he was unable to change things for the better. But he clearly has his eye on doing just that later this week…
