A selection of the latest stories involving Tottenham Hotspur in the media this Monday evening.
Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris said we didn't see 'the Tottenham of this season' at Old Trafford as they were blown away by Manchester United, with Louis van Gaal's side running out 3-0 winners.
The result was a big blow to the side's hopes of qualifying for next season's Champions League, with Spurs now six points off the pace.
Lloris told the Tottenham website: “We didn’t see the Tottenham of this season and we can have regrets after this game because it was an opportunity for us.
“Now we need to keep working and keep our heads high because with nine games left, a lot could happen. We need to be ready and try to win as many games as possible.”
Sassuolo forward Simone Zaza has been linked with a move to Tottenham but TalkSport have picked up on quotes from Christian Maifredi, the player's agent, appearing to dismiss the idea that discussions have taken place over a possible move.
He told Tuttomercatoweb: "Tottenham? No one called me, I don't know if Sassuolo had contacts. Being a striker for the national team was good for him, no doubt, but he's only thinking about Sassuolo."
Emmanuel Adebayor has been talking up the value of Harry Kane to the club, and is quoted in the London Evening Standard saying he could drag the side into the top four and compared him to Gareth Bale - who left in 2013 for Real Madrid.
“Harry is learning through his difficult moments as well as his positive ones but he is fantastic player. Hopefully, he will drag us out of the top seven and put us in the top four. If he can keep scoring as he has recently, of course he can do it.
“But don’t get me wrong, now people are starting to get to know him and what he can do and what he cannot do, his positives and negatives on the pitch. But he is an intelligent lad and he just has to find his way.”
