Cole has just a few months remaining on his deal at West Ham and he says that there is a chance he could end up at Brentford is he is allowed to leave.
The powerful front-man grew up near the Bees' ground and he says that the possibility of joining a club so close to his heart will be tempting for him.
“I grew up around the corner from Griffin Park. I used to live on the eighth floor and see the fans walk past my flat,” Cole is quoted as saying by London24.
“I wanted to be that person for them to come and watch me play one day.
“I’ll have a little butchers you know. They are going alright at the moment and they hold a little soft spot in my heart so you never know.”
If Brentford did bring in Cole it would be quite a coup for them, but his addition would rather go against the type of player they have been bringing to the club in recent times.
The Bees have targeted young players with a point to prove and there are question marks over whether Cole would fit into their system.
Brentford play with a demanding technical style and that may count against Cole, as he is more useful in a side who like to put a lot of aerial balls into the box.
That said, the Championship playoff hopefuls could well make an exception for someone like Cole - as his experience could be crucial as they continue to make vast improvements.
