Following arguably Manchester United's best display of the season, Marouane Fellaini will come under the spotlight and should be given the praise he deserves. The 6ft 4in Belgian international gave a domineering performance as the Red Devils looked to squash any hopes Tottenham may have of a top-four finish.
Fellaini netted a vital opener - in what was expected to be a very close contest - expertly producing an angled finish with his weaker left foot, following a perfectly weighted through-ball from teammate Michael Carrick. He managed two shots throughout his appearance, one of which proved accurate.
|Team||Goals||Total Shots||Shot Accuracy (%)||Key Passes||Aerial Won||Aerial Success (%)||Tackles||Pass Accuracy (%)||Mins Played|

He proved highly valuable in the centre of the park, commanding the Tottenham midfield with his power and physicality. Spurs found themselves stifled in the middle, unable to fashion a single accurate opportunity throughout the first half, and most of the second. The Belgian won a match-best seven aerial duels, as well as completing two, of three, attempted tackles.
Fellaini's impressive aerial presence saw him force the chance for Michael Carrick for the Red Devils' second of the afternoon. He put little effort into leaping over youngster Eric Dier, before heading a powerful attempt at goal. The Spurs defence were unable to clear the danger and the ball fell to the conveniently placed Carrick, who headed past Hugo Lloris with aplomb.
The standing ovation he received when he was subbed on the 82-minute mark was fully deserved following a dominant display. The Belgian may not be regarded as a traditional 'Manchester United player' by the Old Trafford faithful, but he is certainly showing his desire to exceed for the club, pulling every ounce of his weight during a nail-biting season finale.
