Leeds United drew 0-0 against Nottingham Forest this weekend and Sol Bamba impressed yet again.
Leeds United may not have extended their latest winning-run to three matches, but their 0-0 draw with Nottingham Forest was another step in the right direction.
While some of those tasked with scoring for Leeds came in for criticism, not least Steve Morison, there was one player ion particular who shone in Neil Redfearn’s back-line…and not for the first time this season.
Sol Bamba has quickly become a fan-favourite at Elland Road and against Forest he was back to his best, keeping Dougie Freedman’s side at bay and ensuring – along with goalkeeper Marco Silvestri – that Leeds kept a valuable clean-sheet.
The Ivorian centre-back – currently on loan from Palermo – was solid throughout, and by the final whistle he had made seven effective clearances and won 13 duels, four interceptions and two tackles.

Bamba is not just the sum of his stats; his very presence has solidified Leeds' defence and the club will surely do all they can to sign him permanently this summer.
While the loan moves for Granddi Ngoyi and Edgar Cani have not paid off as yet - for very different reasons - Bamba's move has been a huge success, and wherever Leeds finish this season the 30-year-old will have helped them win plenty of points.
