Ex-Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar was highly enthused by his former side's convincing 3-0 win over Mauricio Pochettino's Tottenham side on Sunday afternoon.
First-half goals from Marouane Fellaini, Michael Carrick and Wayne Rooney (with a world-class celebration to boot) did for Spurs and strengthened United's grip on fourth place.
And Van der Sar took to Twitter with a message that will delight all Manchester United fans after the win. It was also one that will instill fear into their rivals...
This is looking more like the old #manutd and the way LvG wants to play his football!!— Edwin van der Sar (@vdsar1970) March 15, 2015
With Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham all proving far from infallible this weekend, imagine a United side anywhere near the old champions managed by Sir Alex Ferguson?
And imagine a side actually taking to Louis van Gaal's methods?
So far this season, Manchester United have been no less than a muddle. Even positive results have been met with widespread criticism after disjointed displays.
Against Tottenham, however, Man United looked impressive - as if the players finally realised they were playing at Old Trafford. And the approval of a club icon like Van der Sar will surely please supporters to no end.
