Sunderland lost 4-0 to Aston Villa on Saturday but what did Black Cats fans think of their goalkeeper's performance?
Sunderland’s match against Aston Villa this weekend was a vital encounter in the fight to remain in the Premier League for another season.
Just one point and one place separated the two sides and a win for either would have been a huge boost approaching the business-end of the campaign.
As it was, Villa won with ease, racing into a 4-0 lead before half-time and playing the second 45 minutes at a canter.
Two goals apiece from Christian Benteke and Gabriel Agbonlahor were a welcome tonic for Tim Sherwood’s men, and proof that this side have not forgotten how to score after all.
Sunderland were disappointing throughout, but the spotlight was fixed firmly on goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon after he shipped four goals.
The former Manchester City stopper has made 20 appearances for Sunderland in the league this season, keeping Vito Mannone firmly on the bench. But his latest showing may see the former Arsenal player returned to the starting line-up sooner rather than later.
After the match we took to Twitter to see what Sunderland fans thought of Pantilimon’s performance and you can read a selection of what we found below:
Look at that 2nd goal man, what are O'Shea first then Pantilimon doing.— Michael Noble (@MichaelNoble1) March 14, 2015

Bye bye Poyet. Never seen such appalling defence - nobody can tackle and Pantilimon shouldn't even be on the pitch anymore— t o m (@_Shermanatorr_) March 14, 2015
Pantilimon's distribute is nothing short of absolutely abysmal.— Jean Valjean (@Zanda451) March 14, 2015
