Manchester United fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to hail the performance of Michael Carrick against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
Carrick started the Premier League clash at Old Trafford and played for 87 minutes, as the Red Devils eased to a 3-0 win.
The 33-year-old midfielder was hugely impressive in midfield for United and ended the game with laudable stats of one assist, 84% pass accuracy, and 50% headers won.
The England international, who has struggled with injuries this campaign, was imperious in midfield without losing his calm, and also scored United’s second goal in the 19th minute.
Former Tottenham midfielder Carrick’s season stats now read: one goal, six chances created, 89% pass accuracy and 100% shot accuracy in 15 Premier League appearances.
The Carrick-driven United win on Sunday sees Louis van Gaal's side remain fourth in the Premier League table with 56 points from 29 matches, five points ahead of Liverpool, who are fifth in the standings with a game in hand.
Following the match, United fans took to Twitter to have their say on the performance of Carrick against Spurs.
