Arsenal continued their impressive surge towards another year in the Champions League with a 3-0 win against West Ham United on Saturday.
The Gunners scored on the verge of half-time, when the impressive Olivier Giroud found the net, before late goals from Aaron Ramsey and Mathieu Flamini ensured there was no way back for Sam Allardyce’s side.
West Ham’s early-season form has tailed off alarmingly in recent times and they managed just a single shot on target against an Arsenal side that has turned the Emirates Stadium into something of a fortress.
An eighth win in their last nine league games means Arsenal strengthened their place in the top-three before they switched focus to the Champions League tie against Monaco next week.
After the match, some of Arsenal’s stars took to Twitter to express their feelings, with goal-scorer Ramsey celebrating his individual effort, the team victory and Wales’ Six Nations Rugby win against Ireland.
Mesut Ozil quickly turned his attention to Monaco while defender Per Mertesacker thanked the Arsenal faithful for their ongoing support.
