West Ham United midfielder Morgan Amalfitano has signed a new contract with the club.
The 29-year-old former Lorient star put pen to paper on a new two-year deal on Friday, as announced by the club’s official website.
This means that Amalfitano will remain at the Hammers until June 2016 and will play in the team’s first season at the Olympic Stadium.
The France international joined West Ham from Ligue 1 outfit Marseille in the summer of 2014 and has established himself as a key player in Sam Allardyce’s side this season.
Amalfitano has scored three goals and created six chances in 19 Premier League appearances so far this campaign, while having a pass accuracy of 77% and winning 42% of the duels.
Following the announcement of the news on Friday, West Ham fans took to social networking site Twitter to have their say.
