Michael Owen predicts Arsenal v West Ham United

Former Manchester United and Liverpool striker Michael Owen looks ahead to today’s Premier League clash between Arsenal and West Ham United.

Michael Owen has predicted in his Betvictor.com column that Arsenal will defeat West Ham United in the London derby today.

The Gunners will head into the Premier League clash at the Emirates Stadium as favourites and in form.

Arsenal have won their last three matches in all competitions, and former Manchester United and Liverpool striker Owen backs Arsene Wenger’s side to make it four out of four.

The Hammers were excellent at White Hart Lane last month, despite having to settle for a point, and they were unlucky not to get a draw against league leaders Chelsea at Upton Park last time,” the 35-year-old wrote on Betvictor.com.

“That said Arsenal will be desperate to maintain their challenge for a vital Champions League place and confidence will be high after their FA Cup success over Manchester United earlier in the week.

“Sam Allardyce has never managed a winning team at Arsenal in the PL in ten previous attempts and is unlikely to buck that trend at the weekend.”

Could Michael Owen’s prediction come true?

Most Premier League followers would back Owen’s prediction and put their money on a win for Arsenal.

The Gunners will head into the game on the back of a massive 2-1 victory over arch-rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

That win must have increased the already-high confidence of the Arsenal players, who will be looking to gift their fans a good performance and a comprehensive win on Saturday.

West Ham’s chances cannot be written off, though, but one suspects that the most they can hope for is a draw.

Sam Allardyce’s side are struggling for form and for points at the moment, having gone without a win in their last seven league and cup games.

Since Christmas Day, the Hammers have registered just one win in 11 Premier League matches.
