Liverpool starlet Tom Brewitt confirms first pro contract with Reds

The under-18’s star has penned a new deal to keep him at his boyhood club.

Liverpool have secured bright prospect Tom Brewitt to a new deal, with the under-18’s star revealing on Instagram that he has penned his first professional contract.

The defender admitted recently that he has grand plans for his career and has ambitions of one day captaining the Reds first-team - like he currently does with the under-18’s side.

Proud to announce that I signed my first professional contract last week. Looking forward to my next challenges #LFC

The youngster first joined the Anfield outfit as an 11-year-old and has come through the ranks at different age-grade levels.

He is also an England youth international with the official Liverpool website describing their teenage star as “a committed defender, who possesses a fine positional sense out on the field.”

Brendan Rodgers has played a key role in bringing other youngsters such as Raheem Sterling and Jordon Ibe through the youth ranks to star in the Premier League.

Although Brewett’s ambitions of skippering Liverpool are a long way off just yet, he is clearly a young player that the Merseyside club rate and could well be a star to look out for in the near future.
