Harry Kane has scored as many as Manchester United’s strikers combined

The Tottenham forward has netted the same amount of goals as Wayne Rooney, Radamel Falcao and Robin van Persie combined this season.

At the start of the season with Harry Kane firmly as a back-up option at Tottenham, a rise to his current Premier League prominence would have been almost unthinkable.

However, the Spurs starlet has fired the North London club into a cup final this season and looks set for his first senior England cap later this month.

With Tottenham travelling to take on top-four rivals Manchester United tomorrow at Old Trafford, the 21-year-old star will again be Mauricio Pochettino’s major weapon.

To show just how significant Kane’s rise has been, his goalscoring tally in comparison with United’s strikers is startling.

While the Spurs supremo has netted 26 goals in all competitions on his own this term, Wayne Rooney, Radamel Falcao and Robin van Persie have managed the same return between them.

There is little wonder that Kane has been awarded the Premier League player of the month award for two consecutive months, with his performances making him virtually unplayable when at his best.

With United’s strikers faltering, Louis van Gaal will surely wish he had someone of Kane’s calibre in his attack, while Spurs fans are certainly proud of their home-grown hero.
