Whether it was a sign of respect, or just a signal he's a dedicated follower of fashion, Schalke midfielder Max Meyer was spotted showing his fondness of all things Cristiano Ronaldo, following last week's Champions League battle with Real Madrid at the Bernabéu.
Given his superstar status, Cristiano Ronaldo has been able to launch his own very successful range of fashion accessories and clothing, including underwear.
However, despite the clamour by fans and fellow footballers alike, to be attired in clothing bearing the name of the Portuguese idol, he recently annoyed his principal sponsors Nike, according to reports in the Mirror, when he launched his own CR7 range of footwear.
With his £5.5million a year contract at Nike at risk, Cristiano Ronaldo was apparently forced to drop his footwear range, which included sports shoes, having not sought prior consultation with Nike and amidst suggestions he was promoting his own brand, more than theirs.
He will, however, be delighted to see fellow professionals looking to follow his lead on and off the field.
