Ardiles says confidence is key if Tottenham want to win at Old Trafford

A Tottenham Hotspur favourite has been speaking ahead of their clash with Manchester United.

Former Tottenham Hotspur player and manager Ossie Ardiles has tweeted ahead of Spurs’ vital Premier League encounter against Manchester United on Sunday.

The two sides now have only the Premier League to focus on after Tottenham suffered Europa League and Capital One Cup disappointment and United crashed out of the FA Cup against Arsenal.

United are currently fourth in the table while Tottenham are sixth, just three points behind Louis van Gaal’s side.

Tottenham certainly have the players to cause a shock at Old Trafford, with the likes of Harry Kane, Nabil Bentaleb , Christian Eriksen and Ryan Mason all impressing this season. And former star Ardiles clearly believes there will be one key aspect to any potential win.

Writing on Twitter, the Argentine said, “Man United v Tottenham. What a game tomorrow? Crucial for both sides. Can we do it? Of course we can. Confidence is key.

“The very best of luck to Mauricio and the boys.”

Tottenham have got over their double cup disappointment in fine style, winning their last two matches against Swansea City and Queens Park Rangers and suggesting they could still have a satisfying end to the current campaign.
