When your luck is out, it's out for good.
Just ask Roberto Soldado. So many glaring misses has the Tottenham striker produced this season it seems the Spaniard can't even score on the training ground.
Indeed, as the Spurs squad was filmed in training ahead of their trip to Manchester United on Sunday afternoon, the 29-year-old was caught on camera (1:05 minutes in) being denied by a double save from Brad Friedel.
They were good stops from the American - but you have to feel a more confident striker would have at least converted the rebound and not thudded his shot against the floor (it wasn't even against first-choice Hugo Lloris!). He certainly wouldn't trouble Manchester United's David de Gea with such form.
Elsewhere at the Tottenham training ground were the usual faces of Harry Kane, Eric Dier and more, while the more rarely seen faces these days were also about in the form of Etienne Capoue and Emmanuel Adebayor.
Spurs have won on their last two visits to Manchester United but Louis van Gaal's side will no doubt be keen to bounce back from their FA Cup defeat to Arsenal on Monday night.
Can Tottenham make it three in a row at Old Trafford? If they can avoid finishing like Soldado's, they have every chance...
