Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta has returned to full training, but he is not available for selection for Saturday’s Premier League clash against West Ham United at home.
The 32-year-old underwent ankle surgery in January and is expected to be fully fit by next month.
Arteta’s last appearance in the Premier League for Arsenal came against Manchester United last month, and his return to full training will be welcomed by all the fans.
On Friday, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger told the club's official website that the former Everton star will be available in three weeks, and it seems that Arteta is already building up his fitness towards that.
The former Rangers midfielder has been able to make only seven Premier League appearances for Arsenal so far this season, but he remains an important part of the team.
Although Arteta’s current contract runs out at the end of the season, The Daily Mail claims that he is expected to sign a one-year extension.
Arsenal will head into Saturday’s match placed third in the Premier League table with 54 points from 28 matches.
