Daryl Janmaat has been adjudged as the best player for Newcastle United for the month of February, as announced on the club’s official website.
The 25-year-old’s performances in defence for John Carver’s side has seen him land the Newcastle United Wonga Player of the Month award for February.
The right-back set up goals for Senegal international striker Papiss Cisse against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park and against Aston Villa at St. James’ Park.
While Newcastle drew the Premier League game against Palace 1-1, they defeated Villa 1-0 at home.
Cisse and Massadio Haidara were also in the running for the prestigious award, but the Newcastle supporters voted for the Netherlands international defender.
Last month, France international attacking midfielder Remy Cabella won the Newcastle United Premier League Player of the Month award.
Newcastle are currently 11th in the Premier League table with 35 points from 28 matches. The Magpies will take on Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday.
