Is Luka Modric set to quit Real Madrid this summer?

Former Tottenham Hotspur star Luka Modric is reportedly unsettled in the Spanish capital, with his family keen to move elsewhere.

Popular Spanish football show, El Chiringuito, is often known for heated debates amongst guests and quite regularly, discussions about transfer stories. Amidst the various topics of discussion on the Thursday night show, were possible targets for Real Madrid this summer.

Offering his views and insight (as per quotes via DefensaCentral.com), journalist Francois Gallardo suggested with conviction: "Real Madrid are following Pastore. He's a very attacking player, he's classy and is world-class quality.

"Chicharito isn't going to stay, but he (Pastore) will come to replace another player..." Gallardo then dropped the bombshell: "That player will be Modric."

The reasoning behind why Modric, such a popular player at Real Madrid, wants to leave? Gallardo explained that his family haven't settled in the Spanish capital and are thinking that a change of scenery would be best this summer.

Summing up, the journalist underlined: "If the wife of Modric says they stay in Madrid, they'll stay, but if not, their leaving will be her decision."

Modric made his name and honed his skills at Tottenham Hotspur. While very popular at Tottenham, he completed a move to Madrid in the summer of 2012.

Clearly, there would be no shortage of clubs pricking up their ears with interest that Modric is thinking of leaving the Bernabeu, should these reports his family wants to move elsewhere have any truth.

The most logical destination for Modric and his family would seemingly be a return to England and the Premier League. If they were happiest and most settled in London, the capital would also perhaps be the destination of choice.
