Stuart McCall will look to get life as Rangers manager off to a winning start with the visit of Livingston in the Scottish Championship match.
To be played on Saturday 14th March at 15:00. Venue: Ibrox, Glasgow.
Odds: Rangers 1/3, Draw 4/1, Livingston 8/2
Stuart McCall takes charge of Rangers in his first game as manager when Livingston visit Ibrox in a must-win game for the Light Blues.
The exit of Kenny McDowall on Thursday afternoon was swiftly followed by the arrival of McCall, who has said in the Daily Record that gaining promotion would be one of the biggest achievements of his career.
His first task is to mastermind a way past a struggling Livingston side that are cut seven points adrift at the bottom of the Scottish Championship table having won only four times this campaign.
The Lions lost their midweek fixture against Hibernian, going down to a late Franck Dja Djedje winner after equalising a minute beforehand through Ibra Sekajja.
That sentenced the West Lothian-based outfit to their fifth consecutive loss, extending their winless streak to six games.
Rangers have had their own issues of late, drawing their last three outings, including a goalless draw with Scottish Championship strugglers Cowdenbeath, and need a first win under new manager McCall to make a statement in their fight for second place.
Historically this is a fixture that Rangers tend to win, beating Saturday’s visitors on 13 occasions in their 18 meetings since the 2001/02 Scottish top-flight season.
In that time Livingston have won one of the encounters, only scoring in two of their nine visits to Ibrox, where they haven’t taken three points in 14 years.
With no new injury worries from the draw against Queen of the South, McCall could field the same 11 that started that game, but could opt for changes and bring Kris Boyd and Kenny Miller back into the starting line-up.
Livingston boss Mark Birchall may well decide on the same team that narrowly lost against Hibernian to play at Ibrox, with no fresh injury worries to consider.
Predicted Rangers starting line-up
