Scotland international Ikechi Anya reacts to Rangers’ appointment of Stuart McCall

Stuart McCall has been appointed as the Rangers manager until the end of the season.

Watford winger Ikechi Anya has taken to social networking site Twitter to back Rangers’ decision to appoint Stuart McCall as their manager.

The 50-year-old has been appointed as the Scottish Championship outfit’s boss until the end of the season, as confirmed on the club’s official website.

McCall, who is currently Scotland assistant manager to Gordon Strachan, spent seven years as a player at Rangers between 1991 and 1998.

Scotland international Anya is delighted with the appointment of McCall as The Gers’ boss, and believes that he will take the Glasgow giants back to the Scottish Premiership.

Rangers are currently third in the Scottish Championship table with 47 points from 25 matches, as many as 22 points behind leaders Hearts but with a game in hand.

The Gers are still in with a chance of making the playoffs, and that is what McCall should be aiming for.

Rangers are back in action on Saturday, when they host Livingston at Ibrox.
