The Hammers will be looking to return to winning ways when they take on their London rivals at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League.
Sam Allardyce’s side have struggled for form and for points in recent weeks, and will head into the match on the back of a 1-0 home defeat to Chelsea.
It was West Ham’s second loss in a row following a 3-1 defeat to Crystal Palace at the Boleyn Ground and saw them move down to 10th in the league table.
The visiting team’s task will not be helped by the injury to star central defender Winston Reid, who will return to training only next week (click here to read more).
Right-back Carl Jenkinson is also unavailable as he is on loan from Arsenal, but Allardyce wants his team to continue to play they have been playing recently.
"Well I thought when James Collins came on against Chelsea he did a brilliant job,” the Englishman told West Ham’s official website.
“Obviously we have to change Carl Jenkinson because he’s an Arsenal player, too. Our lack of goal scoring power is a concern at the moment with the injuries we’ve got.
“We don’t have many alternatives to turn to either. But I’ve said to the lads, if we continue to play the way we have been doing then the results will come for us and they’ll get the rewards they deserve.”
West Ham are struggling at both ends of the pitch, and it will indeed be tough for them to cope with an Arsenal side who are high on confidence.
It will indeed be a surprise if West Ham get anything from their game against Arsenal.
