The Bhoys last won the Scottish League Cup in 2009 - but have lost two finals since then.
There were plenty more, of course, with Scott Brown already at the club back then, along with Gary Caldwell, Scott McDonald and more.
It's interesting to note just how long ago the Bhoys' last League Cup success was, however.
Since 2009, Celtic have contested two League Cup finals - and lost them both. In 2011, they lost to Rangers, while 2012 saw them lose out to Kilmarnock.
And that makes this Sunday's final against Dundee United all the more important.
Ronny Deila's side have drawn two games on the bounce - no disaster but a slowing down somewhat from their superb recent run. Will the lack of League Cup success in recent years play on Celtic's mind?
Back to the last time they won the tournament, it was Rangers who fell victim to Strachan's side, losing after extra-time following a goalless draw over the course of 90 minutes. Darren O'Dea gave Celtic the lead, before McGeady was brought down in the box and converted the subsequent penalty.
Here are the best photos from that memorable final...
