Manchester United media round-up: How Falcao reacted to under-21 request

A round up of news stories this morning related to Manchester United.

The Daily Mail has claimed that Radamel Falcao reacted in ‘total shock’ to being told to play for the under-21 side earlier this week.

The Colombian ace has struggled to produce anything close to his best form since he arrived at the club on loan from Monaco.

The Mail also claims that Falcao is fully aware that he made the wrong decision to move to Old Trafford.

The Metro has reported that Manchester United are closing in on a deal for PSV winger Memphis Depay.

Louis van Gaal is a well-known admirer of the midfielder having used him as part of his squad at the World Cup last summer with the Netherlands.

The paper claims that United will be forced into paying a fee of around the £19.7 million mark.

The same paper also claims that United are interested in a possible deal for Sporting Lisbon defender Ricardo Esagio.

The 21-year-old is reportedly one of the most highly rated youngsters in the Portuguese game.

The paper claims he also has the ability to play on the right hand side of midfield, which could further convince United they are onto a winner.
