Dougie Freedman had reportedly imminent Nottingham Forest signing Modou Barrow on trial last summer

The Forest boss is already a big fan of Swansea City winger Modou Barrow.

Earlier this week it was reported by BBC Sport that Nottingham Forest were all set to sign Swansea City winger Modou Barrow on loan until the end of the season.

They reported that the deal was as good as done for the Gambian wide man. So far nothing has been confirmed, but it is still widely believed that Barrow will be joining Forest in the coming days.

The 22-year-old will become Dougie Freedman's first signing for the club since he took over from Stuart Pearce at the the start of February.

However, this is not the first time Forest boss Freedman has come close to signing the Swansea City talent.

In July he actually had Barrow on trial at former club Bolton Wanderers. The starlet featured in a pre-season friendly against Brondby that month, as reported by The Bolton News.

Bolton were however just one of several teams trying to convince him to leave Swedish side Ostersunds FK and in the end they failed.

Instead Barrow joined Swansea City and has gone on to feature for the club nine times this season, recently signing a four year extension to his current deal at the club.

So it looks like Freedman will finally be getting his man, even if it is just for a brief period of time.
