Bitton admits he was in danger of leaving

Celtic midfielder Nir Bitton admits that he thought he would be forced to leave Parkhead when he was struggling for form.

Bitton had a spell this season where he was out of the first-team and the Israeli international says that he realised his standards would have to improve if he was to stay at the club.

“I said to myself, ‘If I don’t change I will find myself out of this club.’ I was six or seven games out and the worst thing for a player is to be not part of the team, it’s the best feeling in the world being involved," he revealed to the Daily Record.

De Girolamo linked with Celtic

Celtic are interested in Sheffield United striker Diego De Girolamo, according to a report in the Sunderland Echo.

De Girolamo is set to leave the Blades on a free transfer at the end of the season and Celtic are one of a number of clubs said to be ready to take a punt on the talented teenager.

Stokes reveals Deila conversation

Celtic forward Anthony Stokes says that he has discussed what improvements he needs to make with Ronny Deila.

Stokes has lost his place in the Bhoys' starting line-up recently and the Republic of Ireland international has been told he needs to progress in a number of areas.

"I speak to the gaffer on a regular basis," he explained to the Evening Telegraph. "There have been different aspects of my game that he wants me to improve - defensively, my fitness, even the shape I'm in and trying to drop more weight. I have been trying to do all that."
