Tottenham Hotspur are one of a number of clubs said to be identifying Celta Vigo winger Michael Krohn-Dehli as a summer objective, Spanish publication AS reports.
The Danish international’s contract at Celta is set to expire this summer and with the player unlikely to extend his deal he becomes a very attractive free transfer prospect.
Krohn-Dehli is 31-years-old and has made 24 La Liga starts this season, scoring once and contributing with four assists.
Would Krohn-Dehli be a good signing for Tottenham Hotspur?
Mauricio Pochettino has done a sound job in his debut campaign so far at White Hart Lane but questions now arise of the squad’s fitness due to the sheer number of games.
A long run in both the League Cup and the Europa League added to the demands of the Premier League can put a strain on even the biggest of squads, yet Spurs in contrast are short on numbers.
New signings are needed this summer, but the acquisition of an ageing winger who has had a relatively quiet campaign to date would make little sense.
Still, Krohn-Dehli is a 47-time international and he must have something about him to attract strong interest from a number of top clubs, and previously from Newcastle United as per the Mirror.
Nevertheless, Spurs are in the midst of bringing through a new generation of star players and any new acquisition this summer should fit the blueprint currently set by the club.
