Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has told Sky Sports that Eden Hazard will be the best player at Stamford Bridge today.
The former England international defender made the comment during a Question and Answer session on social networking site Twitter.
Carragher seems to rate winger Hazard very highly, and claims that he is the best player in either the Chelsea or the Paris Saint-Germain squad.
JC: He's the best player on the pitch in my book, someone to watch, for sure. He was certainly a marked man in the first leg. #AskSkyCL— SkySportsCL (@SkySportsCL) March 11, 2015
It is a bold comment from Carragher, especially when one considers the quality of players that Chelsea have.
The likes of Thibaut Courtois, John Terry, Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa are all world-class players, and many would claim that they are the best in their respective positions.
The PSG squad, too, has some of the finest footballers on the planet. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, for one, is a world-class striker and arguably the best of the players in their 30s in the world.
Whether Hazard is the best player or not is debatable, but there is no doubt that the Belgium international will be key in tonight’s match between Chelsea and PSG.
The first leg of the Champions League last-16 tie in Paris last month ended in a 1-1 draw, which means that Jose Mourinho’s side have the advantage of an away goal.
The threat posed by PSG at Stamford Bridge should not be taken lightly, but Hazard will be a big player for Chelsea.
Hazard has scored 10 goals and created 74 chances in 27 Premier League appearances so far this season, while having a pass accuracy of 88% and a shot accuracy of 58%.
In the Champions League, the 24-year-old former Lille star has scored two goals and created 13 chances in five matches, while having a pass accuracy of 81% and a shot accuracy of 85%.
