It surely cannot be long before Celtic give Paul McMullan a chance

Could the Celtic faithful soon see another promising young talent given his first-team bow.

Celtic have a number of promising young players coming through their ranks, but arguably the one closest to first-team promotion is attacking midfielder-cum striker Paul McMullan.

The 19-year-old added another goal to his tally in Celtic under-20s’ victory against their Hearts counterparts on Tuesday afternoon, and while this season is all about the senior side fighting for a potential treble, the teenager could well be given his debut in the following campaign.

McMullan has been with Celtic since he was nine, and in January he moved on loan to League One side Stenhousemuir while continuing to train with the young Hoops during the week.

The youngster scored on his debut against Ayr United and netted again in only his third senior match, this time against Dunfermline Athletic.

The teenager has already shown what he is capable of and in time there is every chance he can grow into a wonderful and vital player for the Bhoys' senior side.

Ronny Deila may have other things on his mind right now, but he will surely be excited by the potential shown by his young goal-getter.
