Tottenham youngster Ryan Fredericks has taken to Twitter after suffering a pulled hamstring for Middlesbrough against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
Fredericks, 22, is currently on loan at Middlesbrough for the season having played just four games for Tottenham despite being with the club since 2008.
The right back has made 17 appearances for Boro this season, impressing for Aitor Karanka's men as they push for a return to the Premier League.
Yet during Boro's 2-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest on Saturday, Fredericks lasted just 39 minutes before being replaced by Emilio Nsue having sustained an injury.
Karanka has now confirmed to Gazette Live that Fredericks has suffered a pulled hamstring, which should rule him out of Saturday's game against promotion rivals Ipswich Town.
It's not only a blow to Boro's promotion hopes, but also a blow to Fredericks' development at the Riverside Stadium - and he took to Twitter after realising that he would be missing games, saying that the news about his injury was 'frustrating'.
Frustrating news with the injury especially with some big games coming up, but could have been a lot worse. Be back out there soon #UTB— Ryan Fredericks (@RyanFredericks_) March 10, 2015
With Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has placed a lot of faith in young players this season, with the likes of Ryan Mason, Nabil Bentaleb and Harry Kane all playing key roles in his side - and Fredericks will be hoping to be given a similar chance next season.
