Report: Everton have made it clear they want to sign Traore and Roberto

Everton Goodison 2

Everton reportedly want to sign two players on permanent deals from Barcelona.

Everton have reportedly made their intention to sign Barcelona youngsters Adama Traore and Sergi Roberto clear to the Spanish club, according to Spanish newspaper Sport as confirmed by Sport Witness.

The Toffees have maintained good relations with the Spanish club after the way they used and developed Gerard Deulofeu during a loan spell last season.

Roberto Martinez is a manager who likes his teams to play a very slick and smart brand of pass and move football and both players would certainly fit the bill.

However, Sport suggests that the sticking point is the structure of the deals, with Everton keen on permanent moves whereas Barca may prefer to loan the players out.

The Daily Express reported earlier in the season that Manchester United were keen on Traore, while the Independent has previously claimed long term interest from Arsenal in signing Roberto.

If the Toffees can secure either player looking ahead to the summer, it would be a real coup considering the belief in their quality from the biggest clubs in the country.

However, with Ross Barkley having struggled for game time in the side this year, it’s debatable whether two silky midfield men should be the priority for the club.
