West Ham United first team players Alex Song and Nene have trained with the under-21 side as the first team squad head back from Dubai.

With the Daily Mail reporting that West Ham United’s squad fly back from a warm weather training trip in Dubai today, two first team squad members have been working hard at the club’s Chadwell Heath training ground.

Midfielder Alex Song and forward Nene were pictured working hard with the club’s Development Squad ahead of the weekend game against Arsenal in the Premier League.

Both first team stars are going to have important roles to play over the rest of the season with the Hammers staring at the very realistic possibility of a top eight position by the end of the campaign.

Song is a very experienced holding midfielder who has proven his worth to the club already this season with big performances in big games, while Nene is trying to earn himself a longer contract and will be a good option for Sam Allardyce off of the bench.

Song will also have a point to prove this weekend, if selected, because of his Arsenal roots and the fact he struggled after leaving the Emirates for the challenge of Spanish giants Barcelona.
