We rate Manchester United's players from their FA Cup match against Arsenal last night.
David de Gea - 7
The Manchester United goalkeeper pulled off two breathtaking saves and showed once again why he deserves the Red Devils' Player of the Season award. May feel he could have done better with Arsenal's second goal, though.
Antonio Valencia - 3
This was confirmation that he is not a right-back. Arsenal exposed his lack of familiarity with the position time and time again and the Ecuadorian was at fault for both goals.
Chris Smalling - 5
Didn't look comfortable defending against Arsenal's attack all night. Got dragged out of position too easily and gifted a few chances to the visitors.
Marcos Rojo - 5
The Argentine international has been one of United's more impressive summer signings, but this wasn't his finest game. He struggled to deal with Arsenal's attacking threat.
Luke Shaw - 5
Struggled to combat Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and was substituted at half-time.
Daley Blind - 5
He grew into the game, but his first-half display was poor. Blind is a steadying influence on this United side, but his passing and positioning were below their usual standards last night.
Ander Herrera - 6
Battled hard, but didn't have too much impact on the match. Substituted at half-time.
Angel Di Maria - 5
A delightful cross for United's opener suggested that he was starting to get back to his best, but his red card was completely needless and he let his side down.
Ashley Young - 7
A constant threat, Young had a better game than most of United's high-profile players.
Marouane Fellaini - 5
Fellaini occasionally showed why he was in the team, with his presence causing panic in the Arsenal box. However, his performance was notable for his persistent fouling and he offered little in possession.
Wayne Rooney - 7
Some brilliant touches and a well taken finish. Rooney was probably United's best player yesterday evening and showed exactly why he should be playing up front.
Michael Carrick - 6
A good display after coming on at half-time.
Phil Jones - 6
He appeared more comfortable than most United's defenders had looked throughout the evening after being brought on for the second period.
Adnan Januzaj - 5
Didn't have much influence and his dive was an act of desperation.
