Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen has told the club’s website that the squad is in top condition ahead of the game against Manchester United this weekend.
There is an arguably notion that Tottenham’s first team stars could be fatigued having already played a high volume of matches this season, but the Belgian feels the performance against QPR last week shows that not to be the case.
“We all feel fit. We’ve played so many games but you could see against QPR that we can just keep running and we did that against Swansea as well,” said Vertonghen.
The fact the Premier League is now the only competition that the side have to focus on for the rest of the season should allow the side to maintain their fitness and freshness.
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has a good squad of players at his disposal and Tottenham are well placed to mount a serious challenge for the top four over the rest of the season.
The side are three points away from fourth place as things stand and can draw level with United if they win the game this weekend.
Tottenham have every chance of putting a perfect run of form together over the rest of the season and they have wasted no time with two wins from two after the heartbreak of the League Cup final defeat to Chelsea.
