Massaido Haidara is a doubt for the trip to Goodison Park, but Carver is expected to see one player return.
Caretaker boss John Carver is set to give Haidara 'every opportunity' to be fit for the game according to the report after he missed the most recent league game against Manchester United, which Newcastle lost 1-0 thanks to a bizarre goal from Ashley Young in the closing stages.
Prior to the loss to Manchester United, he was given an injection after he was stretchered off the field during the win over Aston Villa on the previous weekend. Carver has previously described that Haidara has an 'ongoing condition' with his knee, and Ryan Taylor is set to be the man to be given the nod to play at Goodison. The Magpies will also hope to welcome Remy Cabella back to the squad
After the disappointment of losing to Manchester United in the circumstances they did, especially because they had opportunities to win the game, Newcastle may sense an opportunity to bounce back this weekend on the road.
They face an Everton side that has only won one of their last 12 league games, and are dangerously close to being involved in a relegation fight. Combine that with their commitments in Europe at Goodison Park on Thursday night when they face Dynamo Kiev in the Europa League, Newcastle at their best could pose some serious problems to Roberto Martinez's side. The Toffees seem to be struggling on the domestic front after impressive performances in Europe.
Newcastle will have to do a job on Merseyside without striker Papiss Cisse who starts his seven-game ban which he received for a spitting incident with Jonny Evans, but Jack Colback returns from suspension.
