Angel Di Maria saw red for grabbing the referee as Manchester United were tumbled out of the FA Cup on Monday night by Arsenal, but beyond that, the Argentine star could also be heading out of the Old Trafford exit door, according to reports in Spain.
Sports daily AS believes that with Manchester United showing such strong interest in striker Pedro lately, with the 28-year-old uncertain about his future according to Inside Spanish Football, this could pave the way for Barcelona to open negotiations on a swap deal involving Angel Di Maria.
Since his £59.7 million arrival from Real Madrid last summer, many feel that whilst Angel Di Maria has shown moments of brilliance for the Red Devils, he's yet to demonstrate full value for money, following such an important outlay by the club.
Meanwhile for Pedro at Barcelona, although starting opportunities have decreased with the potency offered by a trident of Neymar, Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi, he has made an important contribution when he's featured.
Pedro has made just 12 starts in 25 La Liga appearances, but has helped his side with five goals. In the Copa del Rey he's enjoyed more prominence whilst helping Barcelona to the final, with five goals in five appearances. However, out of four starts from six appearances in the Champions League, he's yet to find the back of the net this season.
