Arsenal's forgotten Brazilian has nothing but praise for his manager.
The Brazilian is currently on loan at Spanish side Almeria, where his development has suggested he just might have a future at the Emirates Stadium after all.
Previous loan spells at Levante, Alcoyano, Ponferradina and Real Murcia have led to differing levels of success but his most recent move has seen him become a first-team regular, with his best performance to date coming in a 2-1 win against Cordoba when he set up both goals.
Despite his progress there is only one man who can decide if and when Silva pulls on an Arsenal shirt for the first-team, and that man is manager Arsene Wenger.
Silva clearly has a lot of respect for his boss, despite spending so long away from his parent-club.
“He is a great person,” Silva said of Wenger. “He gives a chance to everyone, he discusses a lot individually.
With him, I can be confident. There is no difference between great players and young players. I hope to learn a lot with him.”
Considering Arsenal signed him back in 2010 as a teenager, many may have forgotten Silva was still a viable option for the Gunners in the future.
But the way he talks about Wenger, and the way he clearly enjoys playing under him, next season may just be the breakthrough he has been waiting for.
