Liverpool's goalkeeper reflected on the FA Cup quarter-final tie with Blackburn Rovers.
Liverpool’s Simon Mignolet took to Twitter following his side’s 0-0 draw with Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup quarter-final, making a comment that shows the mentality of Brendan Rodgers’ side.
Liverpool have enjoyed a wonderful start to 2015 but they could not break down the Championship club, and could even have been eliminated were it not for a fine save from the Belgian stopper.
After the match Mignolet wrote, “If you can’t win, make sure you don’t lose,” and it is a mantra Liverpool would be wise to embrace in the matches to come.
Liverpool have shown how hard they are to beat in the top flight and if they can be just as resolute in the FA Cup they may just end the campaign with another trophy to add to the cabinet.
There is a long way to go before that can happen, and Blackburn have shown against Swansea City and Stoke City that a visit to Ewood Park is anything but easy these days.
But Liverpool’s resurgent ‘keeper is clearly focused on ensuring disappointments are at a minimum this season and beyond, and that can only be good news for both the club and their supporters.
