The long-awaited, highly-anticipated Heists mode for GTA Online is now available, but only to some users reports claim. The new mode is due for worldwide release on 10th March 2015, which is tomorrow, but some players have been reporting they have actually been able to download the new update early over the weekend.
Hmm, Heist update spiked from 4.2 GB to 4.8 GB. Seems they're finalizing a few things pic.twitter.com/PrToCVq1Qi— V7X3 (@S7_V7X3) March 8, 2015
Heists on 360 = 1.20GB quite big for old gen updates. 4.8GB on xbox one so big bag of heist goodies coming :D— Funmw2 & CaughtCrash (@funmw4) March 8, 2015
I have just fired up my PlayStation 4 to see if the update was available to me, but unfortunately it's not. I'm in the UK, if that makes any difference. I may have to wait until tomorrow like many others.
Heists has been a big talking point among the gaming community ever since Grand Theft Auto V was released back in September 2013 for the last gen consoles. The mode will allow players to team up, plan, set up, and execute big heists for even bigger rewards. The amount of rumours and leaks about the mode have been staggering since developers Rockstar Games have delayed the new mode for a year and a half to work on it. Let's hope it pays off, so we can finally put it to rest and speculate about something else.
Grand Theft Auto V is still due to launch for PC on 14th April, at which point the Heists mode will be available for PC users straight away.
