Chelsea media round-up: Twists over Ivanovic's new contract

A round up of news stories this morning related to Chelsea.

The Daily Express has reported that Jose Mourinho wants Chelsea to drop their normal contract policy for older players.

Mourinho reportedly feels that defender Branislav Ivanovic should get more security than a one-year rolling contract.

Ivanovic is one of the most experienced players in the current squad and has been consistent in their back four this season.

The Daily Star has reported that the club will put a four-year offer to Ivanovic on the table.

It would be a huge sign of commitment from the club and the manager and also from a financial point of view by the Blues.

Their report claims the new deal will include a £15,000 per week pay rise on top of his current deal.

The Metro has reported that Chelsea are at the front of the queue to sign PSG defender Marquinhos.

The paper’s report also suggests that Manchester United and Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing him.

The paper claims the Blues are ready to make a move this summer and will go in at around the £40 million level.
