Arsenal media round-up: Pires says Coquelin has quality missing in his teammates

A round up of news stories this morning related to Arsenal.

Arsenal legend Robert Pires has backed current midfielder Francis Coquelin to be key against Manchester United in the Daily Express.

The French midfielder has enjoyed a dramatic rise since he returned to the club from a loan spell at Charlton earlier this season.

Pires has suggested that Coquelin has battling qualities, which aren’t evident in all other players.

“He's better defensively than their other midfielders – a warrior type. He puts more aggression into the position,” said Pires.

Arsene Wenger has been quoted by BT Sport suggesting the mentality of his side is healthy ahead of the game against United.

Arsenal probably head into the match as slight favourites considering their superior league position over United.

However, they’re playing away from home and need to produce some of their best form to get over the line.

“I think the mentality is very healthy, they want to do well and we will be focused on Monday night,” said the manager.

The Metro has reported that Arsenal are willing to pay a £29.5 million asking fee for Palermo’s Paulo Dybala.

The paper claims that the Gunners have been watching him for most of this season, as Arsene Wenger looks for ways to bolster his attacking options.

Chelsea, Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid are mentioned as other clubs interested in him.
