Manchester United's Juan Mata on two things Arsenal are very good at

Old Trafford Olympics

Juan Mata has been looking ahead to Manchester United's match against Arsenal.

Manchester United play-maker Juan Mata has used his usual Monday blog post to praise tonight’s FA Cup opponents Arsenal.

The two sides clash in the quarter-final of the competition at Old Trafford this evening and the Spaniard knows his side is in for a tough match.

As the current holders, Arsenal will be looking to defend the trophy, while United manager Louis van Gaal would surely love to win some silverware in his debut campaign.

Writing on Monday morning, the £37.1million signing from Chelsea said, “Arsenal are very good technically and many of their attacking players are very fast.”

Mata also said the match will be a chance for fans to enjoy what he called “pure English football”.

The clash harks back to the huge matches of the past between United and Arsenal, with some memorable games taking place in this very competition in the not too distant past.

Mata will be hoping to get a chance to influence proceedings on the pitch but he may have to make do with a watching brief, at least from the start, if van Gaal opts to stick with the players who have served him well in recent games.
