A Wigan Athletic player has had his say on Leeds United's travelling fans.
Leeds fans what a following. Hopefully go home unhappy today. pic.twitter.com/bHr5IUhWNM— Grant holt (@Grantholt31) March 7, 2015
Wigan Athletic striker Grant Holt was quick to praise the Leeds United supporters prior to the Championship clash between the two sides on Saturday.
The 33-year-old is currently side-lined through injury, having recently had cruciate ligament reconstruction, but he was at the DW Stadium this weekend to watch his side play Neil Redfearn’s men.
Taking to Twitter, Holt wrote, “Leeds fans what a following. Hopefully go home unhappy today.”
That was not to be, with Alex Mowatt once again proving to be the hero; the midfielder scoring the only goal of the game in the 51st minute.
Some fine goalkeeping from Marco Silvestri ensured Leeds kept a clean-sheet and travelled home with all three points, ensuring it was Wigan’s fans who were disappointed.
Holt has a long way to go before he will be playing again, but all fans are sure to wish him well in the pursuit of that particular dream.
As for Leeds, they are back to winning ways, with a young side blossoming more by the week.
