Tottenham Hotspur made it two wins out of two on Saturday, when they got the better of Queens Park Rangers 2-1 away from home in the Premier League.
Spurs headed into the London derby at Loftus Road on the back of a 3-2 victory over Swansea City at White Hart Lane and were favourites to win against QPR.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side took the lead on 34 minutes through England Under-21 international striker Harry Kane, who headed home from an Andros Townsend free kick.
The 21-year-old doubled his and Tottenham’s tally midway through the second half when he turned in a through-ball from Ryan Mason.
QPR, though, halved the deficit in the 75th minute when former Tottenham midfielder Sandro found the target.
In the end, it proved to be a deserved win for Tottenham, who are still very much in the running for a top-four finish in the Premier League this season.
Against Rangers, Spurs had 63% of the possession, took 13 shots of which six were on target, and had five corners.
The win has lifted Tottenham into sixth place in the Premier League table with 50 points from 28 matches, just three points behind fourth-placed Manchester United.
Following the result, Spurs players took to social networking site Twitter to revel in the triumph, including 20-year-old midfielder Nabil Bentaleb, whose post sums up the attitude in the Tottenham camp at the moment.
Great win for the boys today! Was always going to be a tough game! Let's keep going! #COYS— Harry Kane (@hkane28) March 7, 2015
